He was born in 1946 in the village of Şahinefendi in Ürgüp.
His father was Süleyman Özdoğan, and his mother was Fatma Özdoğan.
He completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Ankara.
In 1968, he married Veysel Sağdıç from the village of Yeşilöz in Ürgüp.
Driven by his father Süleyman Özdoğan's frequent desire to build a school, and in order to fulfill his father's wish and utilize the real estate inherited from him, he decided to build a school. Since he did not have children, he considered every child raised in the school as his own and built the Ürgüp Ayşe Sağdıç Multi-Program Anatolian High School and the Özdoğan Student Dormitory.
