    Ali Baran Numanoğlu

    Ali Baran Numanoğlu was born in 1918. His father, Hüseyin Bey, was one of the prominent businessmen of Ürgüp. His mother, Sıdıka Hanım, was the daughter of Captain İsmail Efendi. He attended primary school at Ürgüp İnkılap Primary School and completed his secondary education in Nevşehir.

    He held several positions, including teaching at Kayseri Merkez Ahmet Paşa and Fatih Primary Schools, principal of Ürgüp Ortahisar School, director of primary schools in Develi and Ürgüp, mayor of Ürgüp, teacher at Kayseri Talas Akçakaya School, music teacher at Develi and İncesu Secondary Schools, writer, founding member of the Millet Party, and served as a Member of Parliament for Nevşehir in the 1st and 2nd terms of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. He was married and had seven children.
