Eşekli Kütüphaneci Mustafa GÜZELGÖZ
With the idea of bringing the library to the people, he provided mobile library services to 36 villages in the region using seven mules and three horses as part of the Ürgüp mobile library.
After retiring in 1972, his life story was novelized by writer Fakir Baykurt in his book Eşekli Kütüphaneci.
In 1963, he was awarded the “Service to Humanity Award” by the American Peace Corps Association, presented by U.S. President John F. Kennedy.
Mustafa GÜZELGÖZ passed away due to heart failure on February 18, 2005, while receiving treatment at Nevşehir State Hospital.
